Last night, Friday night. I fell a sleep at 6pm, didnt wake up till 10am this morning. And the rain has stopped this morning. Its Saturday. I could enjoy my day off. There is a dry piece of cheese and sliced beets on a plate. It is getting darker out.

Rainy Thursday Night. Past 10pm. Meeting my friend after 2 years. Drinking beer and whiskey together. I walked back home in rain. Realizing the film i could not recall was "the man without the past". Thought it's nice to socialize sometimes. But i can't stand the smell of tobacco, which brings me back bad memories. I go to bed now.

Its the end of March but the wind still is cold. But at least its sunny.

I had an appointment near the Columbus Circle. After reading the blog about locations in the film "Taxi Driver" last week, i was satisfied enough not to actually go visit those locations. But i was already up there at Columbus Circle, so might as well, i thought I'd check out some of the spots used in the film. So here are some photos i took. I was not brave enough to climb up on the statue and get in trouble to get the exact same shot.

Apple pie with a melted slice of yellow cheese. The cafe Betsy and Travis went is Duane & Reade now.

Then I went down to Union Square to buy something. When i finished, it still was early and sunny. So i thought I might as well would walk down several blocks to see the whore house street location, too.

I went to see Taxi Driver screening at Film Forum for its 35th anniversary. It had been so long since the last time i saw it. Such an amazing film.

As leaving the theater, I thought of visiting the locations used in the film. Then i found this great website reporting the comparison of each location from then to now. I have walked by some of the locations without knowing it... Most of the locations dont resemble anymore.

I am devastated with grief for the lost and the difficult situation many people will go through after the quake and tsunami in Japan. But i am happy to learn all of my friends and their family are safe. I will do anything i can do to support the people in need.

Now the concern of radiation leakage is growing larger. Im just hoping everything will go in the best way its possible.

The song was written in 60's, but the view these lines provoke still remains on the street.

I woke up and saw the sky out of the window. It is beautifuly clear, a perfect autumn day. I was sitting with a bowl of soup, and thought of what i should do today. Then I heard people cheering outside. For an hour i thought it was coming from a church near by. Then I realized that the NY Marathon is held today. I live right in front of the New York Marathon course.
Every year i see so many people running and cheering on the street. My street becomes full of energy. There is a long line in cafes, there are people walking with flags, many tourists to see 'brookyn' for their first time. Its like a large festival coming in my rather quiet neighborhood. I sometimes go out and try to get a bite of teir joy.

As my reading phase is starting to fade, I am starting to miss seeing movies and drawing. But today's weather is too sunny and beautiful to stay in my room. I started listing the area i shall visit today. Borum Hill, Carrol Garden, i was there yesterday and every weekend before that. Red hook, its too far and I was there last weekend with my friend. Manhattan, i dont think so. Maybe Fort Greene, which i never really explored before. Maybe it is. But something does not feel right.

I saved up enough money to fly back to Japan. A couple mornings ago I was headung to work. It was early in the morning. The sky was still dark and the air was crisp and cold. When I was waiting for my train, I smelled a perfume of a lady standing near me. The combination of cold air and her perfume reminded me of being with my mother in the winter time. I thought of my room, the staircase and a couch in the living room. I missed home, Japan.

I didnt feel like going to sit in a cafe alone anymore. I can still hear many people cheering and clapping out side. Then I thought maybe i ll stay home with my stuffed animal and read.

I always knew about red velvet cake, but had never tried it till one day. Never understood why it has to be so red for no reason i could see or taste. Later i learned it used be baked with Beet juice. I dont remember how but i started taking photos of every single red velvet cup cake I try. Some tastes good some tastes horrible. I woke up in the afternoon. I got up and sat in front of my desk, my room was very cold.
And realized that my head was spinning. I have been feeling dizzy lately. I went back under a blanket with a book. I stayed like that till it became dark. I was very hungry. I thought of buying myself a nice dinner, with a nice glass of wine. I got up around 7 but barely had energy to change my cloth. I grabbed two DVDs that i rented but didn't get to watch. They were due today. I dropped off the DVDs and walked along 5th avenue, looking into busy restaurants one by one to see if i wanted to go in. I wanted to keep walking but was too tired to do so. So I went into an Ethiopian restaurant near by. The restaurant was full so i had to wait for 5 min. I ordered the food and a glass of wine. But after the first bite i didn't feel hungry anymore. I did not feel well but pushed the food in my mouth and left. I barely touched the wine. I came home and my roommates and their friends were having a birthday party for Edwardo. My room was still very cold. Lots of voice and loud music was heard through my wall. I brushed my teeth and went back to bed with a book. I slept well. I was going to surf next day.

The baby in our apartment Diego is turning one year old, and a large party has been held in the basement. Our apartment is full of love and joy.
While they are celebrating, I went out in the rain to a bar to see the music i like. Just like i used to every single Sunday night. It is strange how i keep on going back there after seeing them million times. It probably has become a routine that helps me maintain certain comfort in my world.

I just came back from Montreal a couple days ago.
Montreal was very quiet and peaceful. I was going to spend my time drawing a lot.
But I spent most of my time drinking coffee and staring at emptiness at cafes. I had so much free time, but did not feel like doing anything. I became bored to death.

Now Im back in my Brooklyn room, sitting at my desk naked.
